The brief was to create a beautiful holiday gift box for the Emma Lewisham Essentials set.
I wanted to create a design that was iconic and unique to the brand, while beautiful enough to be collectable. This box should be something the owner would want to keep and reuse, like Matches fashion marbled boxes. This idea of reusing is a natural fit with the brand's eco credentials.
Emma Lewisham has an innovative approach to skin care, using active scientifically proven natural ingredients. With this in mind, I was drawn to the idea of botanical cells as art. Placing actual active ingredients that are in the products under the microscope.
This is a luxury skin care brand, so to elevate this concept I wanted to give it a bespoke artist treatment. Art and luxury have a long history of influencing each other to create timeless, aspirational experiences and objects.
So the cells were watercolour painted in the brand palette.
